PROGRAM NOTES
This quartet dives into just a few of the many festive dance rhythms found in Tuscan folk music. Jagged rhythms and musical gestures open Cortona Quartet and set the stage for an exploration of nebulous melodies and energetic pulses interwoven with folk dances. It was a pleasure writing this quartet for performers at the 2016 Cortona New Music Sessions.
